Calcutta: Riding Sourashish Lahiri’s allround show, East Bengal annexed the J.C. Mukherjee trophy thrashing Sporting Union by 116 runs in the two-day final that concluded at Eden on Sunday.

Sourashish, on Saturday, scored 73 runs and on Sunday he followed it up by a superb spell of spin bowling. He returned with a figure of five for 63. He was ably assisted by left-arm spinner Shib Sagar Singh who scalped three wickets conceding 61.
