Calcutta: Mohun Bagan finally seem to have got their saviour. In his very first appearance in Bagan colours, Dudu Omagbemi fired home a hat-trick as Sanjay Sen's men routed Southern Samity 5-2 to register their first victory in the ongoing CFL Premier Division, at the Barasat Stadium, on Sunday.

Apart from Dudu's hat-trick, Katsumi Yusa too registered his name on the scoresheet, netting twice. Snehasish Chakraborty and Taurust Manneh found the target for Southern Samity.

The win was crucial for Bagan in the sense that it kept them in contention for the title.

While Bagan finally have a chance to celebrate following Dudu's arrival, there's every reason for East Bengal to rue the Nigerian's departure from their camp. For they know it well enough that Dudu had a significant contribution behind the number of goals they were able to score last season.

After Katsumi headed home to put Bagan ahead in the 19th minute, Dudu scored his first goal off a Souvik Chakraborty set-up. His next two strikes - in the 37th and 55th minutes - were perfect instances of a prolific striker outsmarting his markers.

"I dedicate this hat-trick to all my well-wishers," Dudu said after the match. "I don't think I was at my best since this was my first match of the season. However, it's really good to be among goals."
