New Delhi: Defending champion Pankaj Advani posted his second win at the IBSF world snooker championship in Veldhoven, Holland.
The 19-year-old Indian defeated Mohammed Sal Joakar of UAE 4-3 to record his second straight win Monday. Advani won 96-0, 86-0, 0-77, 68-86, 79-23, 43-75 and 83-52 in a preliminary round encounter in group F.
Advani began his campaign Sunday with a win over Rolf de Jung of Holland.
Asian champion Alok Kumar won his opening match in group B against Karan Chand of Holland. Compatriot Rafath Habib went down to Rene van Rijsbergen of Holland 1-4 (59-18, 19-60, 25-51, 0-71 and 66-68 in group E, according to information received here.
In the ladies?, Anuja Thakur lost to Katie Hendrick of England 1-3 (58-24, 40-58, 50-60 and 7-73).
Former world billiards champion Geet Sethi began his campaign with a win over Winston Dwyer of England in the inaugural world senior?s snooker meet. Sethi?s teammate B.V.S. Murthy beat Guy Quax of Holland. (PTI)
