Post the I-League Derby win, table-toppers Mohun Bagan are guarding against any complacency, ahead of their match against Neroca FC in Imphal on Thursday. “Our focus now is to do well in the next match,” Bagan coach Kibu Vicuna said after their training session at the Salt Lake Stadium practice ground on Tuesday.

“Neroca are a good side and in the last match they best Real Kashmir. So it would be a tough match for us,” he said.

Bagan have 17 points in their kitty from eight matches.

Former Sevilla striker Baba Diawara, who scored his first goal for Bagan against East Bengal on Sunday, remains focused. “If we need to be champions, we need to forget the last game and focus on the next. All remaining games are equally important to us,” Diawara said.

“I am happy that I scored my first goal on Sunday. But my first priority is a victory for my team,” Diawara said.

Asked why he has decided to come to India and play for Bagan, Diawara said: “I like to discover new places and I like to have different experiences. That is why I decided to come here and play for Bagan.”

Diawara said he would love to see his countryman Sadio Mane get the Ballon d’Or. “He is a very good player. I like his style of play. If he wins the Ballon d’Or, I would be very happy,” he said.
