Trained by Altaf Hussain and ridden by N. McCullagh, the home-bred stock of the Poonawalla Estate beat the course-favourite, Acrobat by shade under three lengths. The winner bagged a whopping purse of over Rs 29 lakh plus a trophy valued at Rs 65,000. The race was run in smart timing of one minute and 25 seconds, thanks to Star Concert who set a cracking pace till a furlong from home. The Sunderji-trainee finished fourth.
