Jajpur, Sept. 7: Police arrested a youth for allegedly circulating an objectionable MMS of a high school girl. The accused has been identified as Sangram Das, 22, of Aruha village in the district.
The video clip was traced by one of the victim’s relative. He then informed her parents, who later filed a complaint with the Dharmasala police yesterday, accusing Sangram of circulating video clips of their minor daughter.
“Sangram has been running a mobile phone shop near NH-200 at Aruha Bazar. He secretly took the photographs of my 15-year-old daughter, added objectionable matter and circulated the video clips through mobile phone,” said mother of the victim.
The police said the MMS that Sangram had circulated was morphed.
“Sangram owns a mobile phone shop. He has uploaded the objectionable clips of the girl and circulated it. We have seized mobile phones which have the feed. We have also seized a computer and other instruments which are used to prepare objectionable video clips. We have arrested the youth under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act,” said Suvendu Kumar Sinha, inspector in-charge of Dharmasala police station.
