The quiz team from DAV Public School, Chandrashekharpur, brought laurels to the state by snatching the most covetous champions trophy in the CBSE Heritage India Quiz for the third time. 
The team comprising Soumya Ranjan Mohanty, Adarsha Kumar Mohapatra and Shubham Mishra, all students of Class XII, received the trophy, citations and a cash prize of Rs 21,000. 
They competed against quiz teams from 1,700 schools from across the nation in the preliminary round, 20 teams in the zonal round and four teams in the all-India final held in New Delhi.

Cultural event

The 20th annual function titled Titikshotsav of DAV Public School, Pokhariput, was celebrated recently. Dignitaries present on the occasion spoke about the need of the students to build confidence among themselves. 
Winner of the Indian Idol Junior Ananya Nanda mesmerised the audience with her soulful songs. 
Around 1,500 students of the school got together to celebrate the occasion. 

The students presented a number of song and dance performances apart from showcasing an English play and yoga.

Merit trophy

Pradipta Pattnaik Running Trophy instituted by Prodyot and Prodosh Patnaik was conferred on Colonel Ajay Gupta, father of Tanya Gupta of  Sainik School, Bhubaneswar, for standing first in Class XII CBSE 2015. Kanchan Mukherjee, the principal of the school, was the chief guest and he handed over the award to Tanya’s father. The 54th annual day celebration of the school was also held with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The principal, who graced the function as chief guest, appreciated the achievements of the school cadets.  Rajesh Dhal of Class XII was awarded the best cadet of the school.

Annual day

KIIT International School celebrated its  9th annual day titled Twilight of Serenity recently. Parents, guests and dignitaries thronged the venue as a mixture of melody, music and movement captured the imagination of the audience. The yearbook Carinae was also released in the presence of KIIT and KISS president Saswati Bal and founder Achyuta Samanta. The students performed a fusion of traditional Odissi with modern forms of dance, merging symphonic melody of Western as well as Indian notes.

Top honour

Delhi Public School, Kalinga, has been ranked No. 1 in Odisha and No. 9 in the list of top 20 CBSE schools in India. 
In accordance with a survey by Education. 

Today, the schools have been assessed under various parameters such as academic reputation, individual attention, infrastructure provision, innovative teaching, safety and hygiene, sports education, and co-curricular activities. DPS Kalinga has also been ranked No.1under the parameters of academic reputation and parents’ choice award.
