Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4: Police found two bodies from different parts of the city today.
While the first one was an unidentified woman’s body floating in a pond in Patrapada village on the city outskirts, the other was that of a youth lying in a pool of blood near Dasarathi Enclave at Jayadev Vihar. In both the cases, it was alleged that they were murdered.
Residents of Patrapada saw the body of a woman floating in the pond and informed the Khandagiri police. The policemen rushed to the spot and fished out the body.
The police said the woman was dead for more than two days. Local residents claimed they did not know the woman.
In the other case, Nayapali Police found the man’s body in the afternoon.
The deceased, who was around 30 years old, was lying in a pool of blood and had injuries on his face.
However the residents said that they did not know the woman. “We had not even seen her in our area. someone might have killed her elsewhere and disposed the body in the pond,” said Raghunath Sahu a local.
Police seized some clothes of the woman from the pond side and sent the body to the capital hospital for postmortem. “We have registered an Unnatural Death case. We are trying to establish her identity,” said a police officer.
In the other case the Nayapali police in the afternoon recovered the body of a youth near Dasarathi apartment in Jayadev Vihar. The youth around 30 years old was lying in a pool of blood with injuries on his face.
