Twin murders in Ganjam

Berhampur, April 29: Two persons were killed at two different places within the limits of Tarsingh police station in Ganjam district today.

Suduru alias Sudarshan Naik, 40, was shot dead by Dibakar alias Diba Nayak, 25, this morning. Both of them belong to Rangameru village.

“There were ten bullet injuries on his chest and stomach which was probably fired from a gun to shoot animals. We have identified the accused, Diba Nayak, who has absconded from the spot after the incident. The cause of the attack was past enmity,” said inspector in charge Tarsingh police station Biswa Ranjan Nayak. The police swung into action after the wife of the deceased lodged a complaint.

In another incident, Bala Krushna Nayak of Banta village was killed when unidentified persons attacked him with a sharp weapon when he was on the way to his cashew nut field this morning. The motive of the crime is yet to be ascertained. The police are trying to identify the persons involved in the murder.
