Bhubaneswar, March 10: The works of Dilshad Ayubi, an IT professional who makes short movies in his leisure, has got him appreciation from various quarters.

His short film on passenger awareness about drugging in trains and platforms, made in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force of the East Coast Railway, is being considered for screening at major railway stations.

Titled Sanjeeda, his 11-minute film talks about a pretty girl striking up a conversation with a guy. After some time, she offers him tea. The man later wakes up to realise that the tea had sleeping pills in it and the girl had fled with his possessions.

Dilshad initially wrote the script of Sanjeeda in form of a blog, but his friends pursued him to make a film on it.

Three more minutes were added in a slightly longer version of the film educating the passengers about other ways through which they could be given sedatives during a train journey. His film was recently shown on LCD screens at Vizag railway station.

Srikant K. Mishra, inspector general and chief security commissioner of the East Coast Railway, assured him that the film would be shown at many more stations. Mentioning the comments that the film had received at the 16th Railway Chief Security Commissioners, Mishra said: “The film has been made professionally, has sleek editing and is useful in spreading awareness.”

“The railway officials helped a great deal in making me grasp how goons dupe passengers on trains,” said Dilshad. Hailing from Gaya in Bihar, the Bhubaneswar-based 28-year-old has made a few short films, all of which convey some social message.

“It was not easy to shoot a film with just a DSLR camera and a tripod on a running train full of passengers,” he said. He found a lot of encouragement from the movie club at the company he works with.

His friend, Simant Lenka, who worked as an actor and the cinematographer, co-produced the film.

Sanjeeda, which was shot on a Puri-bound train, features Dev, Sunny and Payal.

Dilshad is now working on his second film project with the East Coast Railway.
