Students learn about earth

FIITJEE-India has set up a new branch at Infocity in Bhubaneswar to provide academic training to students beyond their school curriculum to enable them to prepare themselves for competitive/scholastic examinations. The centre would be operational from May. FIITJEE Odisha mentor P.K. Dash said the location was such that it would help more students manage their time easily and get access to FIITJEE teaching and study environment.

ICC meet

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) organised an ICC Odisha MSME Summit recently in Bhubaneswar. Experts spoke about the financial facilitations given by banks to the small and medium enterprises and start-ups. 

They also spoke about loans and eligibility criteria for loans under the Centre's Mudra scheme. About 80 delegates from food processing units, PVC pipe manufacturers, PSUs, banks and financial institutions, large industries such as steel and aluminium manufacturers, industrial equipment manufacturers, students and NGOs attended the meet.

Varsity degrees

Sambalpur University distributed around 1.30lakh certificates to students that had been pending since 2006. 
This is the first time that such huge large number of certificates were distributed by any university in a day in Odisha. The students of 185 Plus Three degree colleges, seven autonomous colleges, 24 postgraduate departments and 22 professional courses received the degrees. 

Deepak Behera, vice-chancellor, said with this the problem of the students of producing degree certificates for different purposes would be solved. 

Earth day

On World Earth Day, youth group USI Foundation, in collaboration with PakhiGhar Publication and Micronum Solutions, launched an awareness booklet Let Me Breathe - My Resolution for My Earth. The mission was to make people aware about how their individual consciousness and precaution can bring relief to the earth and change in the condition of environment that is degrading every day. A talk was held in the light of changing daily habits such as avoiding plastic and food wastage, and planting trees.
