Bhubaneswar, Jan. 11: Deogarh Court directed the district police to submit the case diary in connection with the strip search case at the Khundeigola High School that drove a 13-year-old girl to suicide.

On January 7, four people — the girl’s parents Bhabagrahi Sahu and Jema Sahu, headmaster Bibhuti Bhushan Behera and Hindi teacher Mamata Manjari Pradhan — were arrested. While the girl’s parents were arrested on charges of destroying facts as they had performed the last rites of the girl without informing police, the headmaster and teacher were held on charges of stripping the girl while searching for Rs 110 that she had allegedly stolen from another student.

All four were remanded to judicial custody after their bail applications were rejected.

They were produced in the court the same day.

“The court had asked us to submit a case dairy on January 12. We will do the needful tomorrow,’ said Udit Narayan Pani, Kundeigola inspector in-charge.

However, none of the three inquiry teams investigating the incident held the school authorities responsible for the girl’s suicide.

The third inquiry team sent by the school and mass education department to the spot submitted its report yesterday. “The two-member team have ruled out involvement of the school authorities in the case,” said a senior official in the department.
