Bhubaneswar, June 22: The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination authorities have extended the last date for submission of application for Special OJEE 2015 to July 10.
Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) chairman Tusharkant Nath said admit cards would be dispatched on July 10. Results and ranks will be announced on July 27 on the OJEE website - www.ojee.nic.in.
"There will be 90 marks of multiple questions with 30 marks each in physics, chemistry and mathematics. The examination will begin at 9am and end at 11am," Nath said adding that students must report to the examination centres 30 minutes before the test.
Private engineering colleges are expecting close to 10,000 students to register for the Special OJEE being conducted by the state.
The private colleges had approached Orissa High Court demanding a special OJEE for candidates who did not take the JEE (Main) but seek admission in engineering colleges.
These students, they claimed, were from interior areas of the state and were unaware of the new entrance procedures.
The Odisha Private Engineering College Association alleged that the state government did nothing to publicise the new format to the students. This has also led to the subsequent fall in engineering admissions, authorities of private colleges rued.
The court in its judgment on March 24 said a special OJEE should be conducted for seats that would remain vacant after the JEE (Main) counselling. While the submission of online application is already on, counselling and admission are scheduled to start on July 8.
At present, there are 94 degree engineering colleges in the state with a capacity for 48,700. While seven of them are run by the government, the rest are self-financed.
