Bhadrak: Police on Friday arrested the 53-year-old headmaster of a government-run girls' high school on the charge of committing "unnatural sex" with a 26-year-old peon engaged in the school on a temporary basis.

The accused, who worked at a school in Agarpada police station limits, was sent to jail after his bail plea was rejected by a local court.

The education department said that the teacher would be placed under suspension after his 48-hours' stay in jail. The accused allegedly sodomised the peon in his rented house promising him to make his job permanent.

The complainant said the accused carried out the act with help from another peon working in the same school and that the headmaster had been exploiting him for six months.

An unknown person is said to have photographed the act of sodomy.

Town inspector in charge of Bhadrak Manoj Rout said the accused was married and had children. His family stays in Bhubaneswar and he had been living at the rented house in Bhadrak town. The accused had been working at the school for more than 10 years.

The police said the accused sodomised the peon after getting drunk.
