Sambalpur, Feb. 24: The development authority has asked the Gujarat Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation (Gitco), which is preparing a comprehensive development plan for the city, to submit its report by June.

Gitco recently made a presentation of the plan before the Sambalpur Development Authority.

The authority's officials and residents of the town, who took part in the presentation, pointed out several flaws.

Gitco also received many suggestions during the presentation.

"Gitco has been asked to bring in necessary changes in the plan, considering the suggestions of the people who attended the presentation, and submit the final development plan by June," said the authority chairperson Bijaya Mohanty.

"The plan will be submitted to the government in the first week of July," Mohanty added.

The development plan for Greater Sambalpur includes Sambalpur city, Burla and Hirakud, besides villages in Dhankauda, Rengali and Maneswar blocks, covering a total area of 507.83sqkm.

Some Rs 90.78 lakh will be spent to prepare the plan.
