Bhubaneswar, May 23: Train services between Howrah and Chennai main line will be affected for three days from Friday because of replacement of steel girders on tracks.

As a result, some trains running on the Howrah-Chennai main line will be cancelled, short terminated and diverted during the period. Bhubaneswar-Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express and Kharagpur-Khurda Road-Kharagpur passenger train will be cancelled on May 25 and May 26 from both the directions.

The Puri-Howrah-Puri Duronto Express shall also be cancelled between May 25 and May 27 from both the directions. The Visakhapatnam-Digha weekly express leaving Visakhapatnam and Puri-Howrah weekly Express leaving Puri on May 24, the Digha-Visakhapatnam weekly express leaving Digha and the Howrah-Puri weekly Express leaving Howrah on May 25 have been cancelled. Jajpur Keonjhar Road-Kharagpur passenger train will be short terminated at Balasore and will return back as Kharagpur-Jajpur Keonjhar Road passenger train from Balasore to Jajpur Keonjhar Road on May 25 and May 26 and will be cancelled between Balasore and Kharagpur from both the directions.

The New Delhi-Puri Purusottam Express leaving New Delhi on May 24 and May 25 will be run on diverted route via Tata-Dangoaposi-Jakhapura and Cuttack. Haridwar-Puri Kalinga Utkal Express leaving Haridwar on May 24 and May 25 will run on diverted route via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Angul and Cuttack.

Patna-Ernakulam Weekly Express leaving Patna on May 25 will be diverted via Adra-Chandil-Jharsuguda-Sambalpur and Vijayanagaram.

Guwahati-Ernakulam weekly express leaving Guwahati on May 25 shall be diverted via Kharagpur-Jharsuguda-Nagpur and Balharshah. Similarly, on the down line, Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express leaving Puri on May 25 and 26 shall be diverted via Jakhpura-Dangoaposi and Tata. Puri-Haridwar Utkal Express leaving Puri on May 25 and 26 shall be diverted via Angul-Sambalpur and Jharsuguda. Howrah-Puri-Howrah Dhauli Express and Howrah-Puri-Howrah Sri Jagannath Express will stop at all stations between Kharagpur and Balasore from May 25 to 27 from both the directions.
