Bhubaneswar, Aug. 30: Around 50 BJB (Autonomous) College students staged protests on the campus alleging anomalies in their second semester results, which were announced today.

Most of the agitating students, who have opted for history as their elective subject, have been awarded single digit marks.

“I had scored 14 out of 20 in the internal exams. I refuse to believe that I secured only three marks out of 80. There has to be some serious goof-up on the part of the examination section,” said Trupti Pani, a political science student.

A sanskrit student said the internal and semester marks of some of them had not been totalled. “Unfortunately, such things are happening in a premier college like BJB. A few of us, who had opted for alternative English as their modern Indian language, have been awarded marks in Odia!” said the student, Manoj Kumar Sahoo. College principal Gouri Shankar Ray dismissed the allegations. “The results have been published today but have the students got their mark sheets? Without knowing anything, they are creating a commotion. And the possibility that a student, who has secured 14 in internal exams, performing poorly in the main exams cannot be ruled out,” he said.
