Plus Three list out, commerce in demand

Bhubaneswar, July 9: The first selection list for admission to Plus Three degree courses in the state was published today.

Cut-offs in Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (Autonomous) College, Bhubaneswar, were the highest across all streams followed by Ramadevi College and Basic Science. The cut-off for physical science at BJB Autonomous College was 91.40 per cent, 88.80 per cent for biological science, 68.67 per cent for arts and 83.83 per cent for commerce.

Cut-offs in commerce indicate that an increasing number of meritorious students are getting drawn to it. The highest cut-off for commerce was 83.83 per cent at BJB college, followed by 73 per cent at Rama Devi College and 71.67 per cent at Christ College. The first phase admission would begin from July 14 and continue till July 17. In all, 2,05,684 students have applied for 1,51,728 seats in 704 government and private colleges in the state.

The second phase of cut-off marks and merit list would be declared on July 22.
