Bhubaneswar, March 15: Secretaries of various departments and implementing agencies were instructed today to expedite utilisation of grants and submission of utilisation certificates to get the full grant awarded by the 13th Finance Commission.

The instructions were issued at the monitoring committee meeting held here today.

The review revealed that the state had received 13th Finance Commission grant for the projects such as eco-restoration in Chilika, construction of anganwadi buildings, upgrade of health infrastructure and jails, renovation of power sector, police training, modernisation of fire services, preservation of monuments and Buddhist heritage.

During 2011-12, a total amount of Rs 420 crore was received against these projects out of which 99 per cent has been utilised. The utilisation was 77 per cent of the Rs 335.50 crore during 2012-13.
