OJEE counselling to begin in July

Bhubaneswar, May 30: The results of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination-2016 (OJEE), which is mandatory for taking admission into professional and technical courses (barring BTech first year), was announced today.

The top positions were bagged by Anshuman Mishra from the MTech stream, Amiya Ghose topped the list from MPharma stream, Shadab Anwar in MBA, Barsha Priyadarshini Bhatt in MCA and Haripriya Naik in bachelor of homeopathic medicine and surgery (BHMS) and bachelor of ayurvedic medicine and surgery (BAMS), pharmacy, respectively.

A total of 46,187 candidates had appeared for the OJEE this year. Of these, as many as 16,896 students have cleared BTech through lateral entry while 2,694 students have been allotted ranks in MTech. Similarly, 6,717 ranks were allotted for MBA, 1,841 ranks for MCA, 1,290 for lateral entry MCA, 343 for lateral entry pharmacy, 23 for MArch, 52 for MPlan and 547 for MPharm.

Another 426 ranks were allotted in integrated MBA, 9,323 ranks in pharmacy, 9,471 in ayurveda and homoeopathy have also been issued.

This year too, engineering (BTech) and medical (MBBS) were not a part of OJEE as Odisha joined the national level JEE (Main) for undergraduate engineering admission and the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) for admission in medical colleges.

OJEE chairman Tushar Kant Nath said the candidates can download their rank cards from the website http://www.ojee.nic.in.

"Counselling for admission will start from the first week of July. Students who have complaints or grievances regarding their marks must immediately contact the OJEE office or call the helpline," said Nath.

The OJEE authorities will set up nodal centres to help students in online registration. The students have been directed to get ready with the documents for counselling.

In another development, the results of Central University of Odisha, Koraput, will be declared tomorrow. The entrance examination result will be available at the university's website www.cuo.ac.in.

More than 12,000 candidates had appeared for the exam both online and offline on May 21 and 22. It was held across 17 centres in Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Baripada, Rourkela, Bhawanipatna, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Koraput.
