Bhubaneswar: One person on Friday was detained in connection with the murder of a journalist in Ganjam district three days ago. Unidentified goons had stabbed 35-year-old Tarun Kumar Acharya with sharp-edged weapons at a lonely place while he was returning home at Bikrampur from Khallikote town on his motorcycle. Bhubaneswar: The state government has revoked its earlier consent to spare director general of police Prakash Mishra for a posting in the CBI or any central government position. n a letter to the Union home secretary, state home secretary Vipin Saxsena said the state government’s earlier recommendation in favour of Mishra’s central deputation stood cancelled with immediate effect, while citing shortage of IPS cadre officer. Besides, the state government said that Mishra had played a vital role in curbing the Maoists menace to a great extent. Bhubaneswar: Results of the annual higher secondary examination in arts, commerce, science, vocational and distance education streams conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education will be announced on Saturday. Bhubaneswar: Results of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examinations (OJEE) conducted on May 11 this year for admissions to the various professional undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, was published on Friday. Students can get their results as well as download their rank cards from the OJEE official website http://www.ojee2014.com. Counseling for students will begin from the third week of June.
