CBI arrests three

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took P.V. Satyawati, a woman railway employee at Hatia station in Ranchi, on four days remand after producing her in the special CBI court in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. Satyawati, along with her son P.I. Pawan and his MBBS friend Ratnesh Kumar, were allegedly involved in an inter-state job scam. The CBI had arrested Satyawati on Tuesday from Ranchi. The other involved are at large. Satyawati will be in CBI custody till April 30.

Two killed

Bhubaneswar: Two youths died after being electrocuted near Shakti Sugars in Dhenkanal on Thursday. The victims, An ju Samal and Achyutananda Nayak, are residents of Deulasahi in Dhenkanal. The duo had parked their scooter on NH-55. Later, their vehicle came in contact with an 11KV wire and both died on the spot.

Deer dead

Jajpur: A two-year-old spotted deer was mauled by stray dogs in Amiyajhari village under Bayree forest range of Jajpur district on Thursday. The animal had strayed into the village in search of water when it was attacked by the dogs. Forest officials buried the deer after conducting a postmortem.
