Tourist spots to be developed

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has decided that at least 329 tourist spots will be developed across the state. hese places will be identified and developed on a priority basis. Communication and accommodation facilities will be made available in these locations.

Surf champs

Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Thursday bagged four gold medals in the National Windsurfing Championship-2013 taking place in Goa. Manaswani Maharana, 21, from Berhampur won three medals, finishing in first position in three different races. Saddam Hossain Saha, 22, from Gop, Puri won the fourth medal.

Four die

Cuttack: Four persons died and 16 were injured after a car collided head on with a multi-utility vehicle at Padhanpali here on Thursday. The vehicle was carrying 12 persons from Ratnabadmal to Rairakhol. The injured are undergoing treatment at VSS Medical College and Hospital, Burla.

Patnaik plea

Bhubaneswar: Former state Congress president Niranjan Patnaik expressed displeasure over Odisha Jan Morcha general secretary Jagneswar Babu being handcuffed while being produced in court on May 21. Patnaik urged chief minister Naveen Patnaik to take action to curb “police harassment and ill-treatment”.
