Balasore: A 31-year-old woman on Friday lodged a complaint with the Town police. She accused her in-laws of torturing her and taking away her children for dowry. The woman, Santosini Mallick, a mother of two who got married in 2001, alleged that she was driven out of her house in 2010 for not being able to pay Rs 80,000 as dowry. Kendrapara: A 16-year-old mentally unstable girl was allegedly gang raped in a remote village in Patkura police limits here. Police said the FIR stated that the victim was dragged from near her house in Nuapada village and raped by two men, whom she did not name. Bhubaneswar: Around 300 residents, including women, on Friday ransacked a liquor shop on the outskirts of Sampur, demanding its relocation. They said the shop was near a school and temple. They also said goons crowding the area harassed women. Berhampur: Police on Friday raided a gambling den at Prem Nagar and arrested 12 persons while one other managed to escape. An amount of Rs 6.47 lakh, five motorcycles, 11 mobile phones were seized from the spot.
