Bhubaneswar, Nov. 16: Security personnel seized ammunition from a Maoist camp inside Siriguda forests in Nuapada district on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off about the presence of some rebels in the area, a joint team of CRPF, District Voluntary Force and the local police launched a combing operation inside the forest when they came across the camp. According to reports, they seized 14 tiffin bombs, four detonators and four live cartridges. Bhubaneswar: Odisha Jana Morcha leader Pyari Mohan Mohapatra on Saturday hinted that the process of forming a third front comprising non-Congress and non-BJD parties in the state had begun. Leaders of Republican Party of India joined hands with Mohapatra, who was ousted from the BJD last year following a failed coup against chief minister Naveen Patnaik. Mohapatra said that many other parties including the BJP and the rebel group of BJD would join hands with them in the coming days. Bhubaneswar: A National Commission for Women (NCW) team today met the chief secretary and the director general of police to discuss the issue of the killing of Itishree Pradhan, a schoolteacher at Tikiri in Rayagada. The two-member team of the commission consisting of Hemalata Kheria and Mansi Pradhan had earlier visited the village of the deceased and her workplace. The team members said once they had all the data and information, they would recommend a CBI inquiry into the case. Bhubaneswar: The director general of police Prakash Mishra said a special 'tourist police' system would be introduced to address the issues and problems of tourists. The system will start at Lingaraj and Nandankanan police stations in the city along with Puri and Konark. These policemen will have different uniforms and will provide information to tourists and see that they do not face any problems. Cuttack: A security guard has been injured after he was stabbed by a youth in front of a night club at Dargha Bazaar on Saturday evening.
