Balasore: Nearly 35 devotees were injured in a stampede near the entrance of Chandaneswar Shiv Temple in Bhograi on Thursday evening.he incident occurred after a portion of the barricade collapsed. An injured devotee was moved to Digha hospital in Bengal and the others were discharged after first aid. Berhampur: Two youths were arrested at Mahuda village near Digapahandi police station, 2km from here, on charges of attempting to rape a minor girl. Villagers rescued the girl from the youths after another minor girl escaped from their clutches and informed the villagers about the incident. Bhubaneswar: Daily power cuts ranging between one hour and three hours will start soon in places under Central Electricity Supply Utility (Cesu) jurisdiction, barring Khurdha and Cuttack. Cesu officials have not decided when it will be effected, but said power theft would lead to longer hours of disruption in areas it was reported from. Power cuts will take place in Dhenkanal, Angul, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Nayagarh , and part of Jajpur to make up for losses. Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday unveiled the first-ever calendar published by the Jagannath temple administration in Puri. The calendar, released in both Odia and English, has details of various festivals along with pictures of various avatars of the lord. Bhubaneswar: The state government on Friday directed the housing and urban development department to introduce city bus services in Berhampur and Sambalpur by June end. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik took the decision and directed the department to make the required infrastructure available.
