TCS to recruit techies

Bhubaneswar: IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will recruit 4,000 techies for its Bhubaneswar centre in the next three months after expansion work here is completed, TCS chief N. Chandrasekaran informed chief minister Naveen Patnaik at the secretariat on Friday. The four-year-old centre in the city, also known as TCS Kalinga Park, would expand further by 2015-16 and generate employment for 10,000 persons, he said.

Cuttack: Board of Secondary, Odisha on Friday announced dates for the conduct of this year’s Supplementary examination scheduled to start from June 10. Keeping in view the heat wave conditions, the board has decided to conduct the examination from 7:30 am in the morning. “The exact number of students to appear in the supplementary examination will be clear only after completion of the form fill up process which will be over by May 17,” said board president D.P. Nanda

Rourkela: Sundergarh police arrested two more persons for their alleged connection with the Pahadi Cheetah, a criminal outfit, and for allegedly abetting criminal activities. The accused, Muna Singh and D. Appat alias Mahakud belong to Jhar hand.

Techie in net

Bhubaneswar: Mahila police, along with Kharavela Nagar police on Friday arrested a software engineer from the city who was absconding in a dowry torture case. The accused, Susant Kumar Das, a resident of Laxmi Sagar area, was taken to Rourkela in the afternoon. Das was married to a lecturer of a private engineering college in the city last year. But the woman alleged that he was torturing her for more dowry, following which police were searching for him.
