Sambalpur: Maoists have set afire five tractors, one JCB and a mixture machine at Pallimunda village in the Paikmal police station limits of Bargarh district on Saturday night. Police sources said around 10 Maoists entered the area searching for a contractor and when they did not find him, they set the vehicles on fire. The police have intensified patrolling in the area to nab the culprits. Sambalpur: Police arrested four persons for allegedly opening fire at two traders to terrorise them and extort money from them at Golebazar. The traders on Sunday observed a one-day strike, demanding for a police beat house in the market area for the safety of traders and buyers. However, adequate police forces have been deployed in the area. Rourkela: Police on Sunday arrested four members of the Pahadi Cheetah, a Jharkhand-based criminal outfit. On Saturday, the members fired two rounds in an attempt to extort money from a local businessman. The police have also seized two country-made pistols and three rounds of live ammunition from the criminals. Bhubaneswar: A labourer identified as Maheswar Nahak, 45, died after falling from the roof of a five-storey building at Indradhanu Market of Nayapalli on Sunday. Nahak, who hailed from Nayagarh district, was staying at Dumduma. He was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital. The doctors declared Nahak brought dead.
