Bhubaneswar: In a letter to Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh has announced release of funds worth Rs 348 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana for utilisation in the 18 integrated action plan districts of the state. his amount is in addition to Rs 1,622 crore released for Odisha for 2011-12. Mohanty Commission, which was appointed to probe the Pipili gangrape case, has extended the last date for receiving affidavits in connection with the incident to April 20. he commission extended the deadline after receiving just nine affidavits in the past two months and fixed April 21 for its next sitting. hough the commission had so far held two sittings it has not been able to start proceedings by issuing notices to witnesses for recording of statements and cross-examination because of the apparent lack of response.
