Bhubaneswar: A college student was run over by a truck at Talcher on Wednesday morning. The student was returning home after offering puja at his college on Ganesh Chaturthi when the truck hit him from behind. He died on spot. Two other students were injured in the incident. Bhubaneswar: Tension erupted in an SC & ST ashram school in Koraput after a Class I student’s parents alleged negligence by the school authorities. They complained that the authorities had not informed them about their daughter’s prolonged illness. On visiting the hostel, they found her in a critical condition and admitted her to the district hospital on Wednesday. The girl was diagnosed with chronic malaria. Bhubaneswar: A woman at Belpara village in Balangir committed suicide by hanging herself from the roof. She and her husband had lodged an FIR on Sunday alleging rape by a villager following which the she took the drastic step. Balasore: Residents of Tundara village caught a python on Tuesday night and handed it over to the forest department on Wednesday. he reptile measured about 9 feet and weighed nearly 20kg, said a forest official.
