New buses

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik flagged off 19 AC buses and one non-AC bus at Paribahan Bhavan here on Saturday. The new buses would ply on 11 routes such as Bhawanipatna-Vishakhapatnam, Berhampur-Chandahandi, Balangir-Berhampur, Burla-Berhampur, Bhubaneswar-Malkangiri and more. Sources said that the new buses would help to provide comfort and better travelling experience. 

Road mishap

Bhubaneswar: Two girl students of a city-based engineering college were killed and three others suffered injuries in a road mishap near Lingipur on Friday. The mishap took place when the deceased, identified as Preeti Salin of Ranchi and Debasmita Sahu of Calcutta, along with three classmates were travelling in a car to Puri. The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Molestation

Kendrapara: A 22-year-old man was arrested on the charge of molesting a minor girl in Kadalibadi village of Kendrapara on Saturday. The accused was arrested after the father of the 13-year-old girl lodged a complaint with the police. The victim was allegedly molested a couple of days ago when her family members were not present, sources said.

Ganja seized

Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri police seized 20 kilograms of ganja from a car on NH-5 near Ghatikia on Saturday. The police have held two persons in this connection.
