Health check-up

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday asked the officials to provide regular health check-up, drinking water and sanitation to the SC and ST hostels, especially the ones for girls. Naveen also ordered immediate appointment of 115 additional women health workers.

Tourism order

Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary G. C. Pati on Thursday directed the tourism officials to plan to link the state with 
the Buddhist circuit. 

Pati also asked them to work towards running a special train between Bhubaneswar and Bodhgaya. 

Lightning toll

Sambalpur: Sushant Sahu, 30, died after lightning struck him at Sahebi village in Naktideul police limits, around 90km from here on Thursday. Sushant’s father Subudhi and mother Lata also 
received injuries due to the lightning. They were working on a field. 

Utkalika fair

Bhubaneswar: The state-run Utkalika has successfully run a mega fair at Neelachal Urban Haat in Puri on the occasion of Nabakalebar and rath yatra with a sale of Rs 75 lakh. 

Around 3 lakh visitors attended the fair.

Book release

Bhubaneswar: Retired IPS officer Biswakesh Tripathy launched his latest book In the Cradle of the Seven Sisters on Wednesday. The book is a historical fiction based on the Indus valley civilisation. The book is set against the backdrop 
of Sutkagan Dor, an archaeological site of the ancient civilisation.
