Baripada: The special vigilance court of Balasore on Thursday convicted a retired forest guard on the charge of taking graft of Rs 1,000 in 2003. The court awarded the retired guard one-year rigorous imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs 5,000, and in default, another three-month jail term. he convict, Dayanidhi Sadar, was caught while taking the amount from one Surendra Tung of Suliapal to release his seized cycle. Baripada: Sleuths of vigilance wing, Balasore, on Thursday nabbed an assistant sub-inspector of police Bholanath Chakra posted in Betnoti police station while accepting bribe of Rs 2,000 from Upendranath Behera of Badasahi for removing name of his brother from a case.
