Ekamra Walks

Bhubaneswar: A Special Ekamra Walks on Thursday welcomed newspersons covering the ongoing Asian Athletics Championship. The walk showcased the monuments and heritage sites to the guests, many of whom were first timers to Bhubaneswar. They were mesmerised by the upkeep of the heritage sites, some of which date back to 7th century AD to 15th century AD at Old Town.

Summons

Bhubaneswar: Puri collector and district magistrate Arvind Agrawal summoned Penthakata police station inspector-in-charge to his office after two Odisha Administrative Service officers alleged that police misbehaved with them while performing magisterial duty during suna besha and adhara pana rituals.

New VCs

Bhubaneswar: Atanu Kumar Pati has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur. Amarendra Narayan Mishra will take charge the new vice-chancellor of Khallikote University in Berhampur. The appointments have been approved by governor S.C. Jamir, chancellor of the two universities.

Bhubaneswar: A man who rescued an infant from a bush at Dihamunda Sahi in Dhenkanal district has urged the administration to allow him and his wife to adopt the baby. Mangala Dehury rescued the boy from a bush after hearing his wails on June 3.

Gang arrest

Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday arrested three gang members involved in a robbery of mobiles, LED TVs from various parts of the state.
