Designer Rashmi Mohapatra showcases the Raas collection in Paris.

The Odisha fashion brand assembled a generous collection of hand-woven silks, linen for display at the Who's Next International Trade Fair held recently at Porte De Versailles in Paris.

The brand exhibited its line alongside international biggies such as Asso, Barbara Lebek, and Linea Raffeli. The focus was to showcase the design techniques of the state.

Rashmi Mohapatra, who founded the Raas brand, along with designer Pritam Panda, said: "We have been trying to portray our weavers' work in the best possible zones, and now getting shortlisted for such an enormous event is like a dream come true."

The fashion designers have reinvented old patterns such as Nabakathori, Ruturaj Basantha, Sudarshana, Shankha, and Pasapali apart from developing newer styles of psychedelic and geometric Ikat patterns. Apart from saris, there were jackets, trench coats, co-ordinated sets for women and waistcoats, shirts. There was an exclusive line of stoles too.
