Bhubaneswar: The public works department is now giving final touch to the multi-storey office building popularly known as the "New Nautala" at Unit-V which is set to be thrown open next month or the month after.

Most of the civil, electrical and painting works in the new office complex has completed, while the authorities will now take up construction of internal roads and landscaping of the premises. They will also construct the boundary wall for which an eviction drive will be carried out in the adjoining area.

The authorities have decided to acquire 8.3 acres adjacent to the building for which they will demolish the consolidation office of the police and a store of the department of information and public relations. The drive will be taken up in a week, sources said.

Work on some interior works is also remaining. "The contractor is on track to complete the project before deadline. The complex will be ready for use by the end of March or the first fortnight of April," said a works official.
