Bhubaneswar, April 7: The Indian Institute of Technology has increased a total of 80 seats in its various courses. The admissions for the new seats will be done through JEE (advanced) 2016.
The IIT Bhubaneswar has also launched a new BTech programme in electronics and communication engineering with an initial intake of 40 seats. It is launching five-year dual degree programmes in mechanical and civil engineering with 20 seats in each.
The dual degree programmes will be offered in mechanical and civil engineering with specialisation in areas such as mechanical system design, thermal science, structural engineering and transportation engineering.
The existing programmes at IIT Bhubaneswar include four year BTech degrees in civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and metallurgical and materials engineering. The metallurgy course has 20 seats, while the others have 40 seats each.The institute has already started classes on its permanent campus at Argul from January 4.
