Help at hand for new entrepreneurs

The state government will work with TiE, Bhubaneswar Chapter, for mentoring young and budding entrepreneurs of the state.

Bhubaneswar: The state government will work with TiE, Bhubaneswar Chapter, for mentoring young and budding entrepreneurs of the state.

The TiE is a non-profit global community welcoming entrepreneurs. It was founded in 1992 by a group of successful entrepreneurs and is now touted as the world's largest entrepreneurial organisation.

TiE Bhubaneswar has many eminent and renowned members from Odisha who are ready to lend their helping hand to the upcoming entrepreneurs of the state.

The annual day of the chapter was held here on Wednesday.

Sanjeev Chopra, secretary of the industries department, invited the chapter to be a part of Make in Odisha 2018.

L.N. Gupta from the state's MSME department spoke in detail about the various new government initiatives and schemes for the start-ups.

He also mentioned the portal where the upcoming start-ups could register to get mentoring support from the government.

The evening also saw a change in the leadership of TiE Bhubaneswar.

Promoter-director of Crown Hotel Debashish Patnaik who took over as the new president of the chapter said that three factors - attitude, environment and appreciation - are required for the entrepreneurship development in Odisha.

"It is high time we reach out to the interiors of the state and foster entrepreneurship amongst the youth of Odisha," he said.

He also declared the names of five startups - Equirea, Woimee, Triptales, D.D. Biotec and swargadwara.com - that have been selected for mentoring support.

Sunil Taneja took over as the vice-president and Dharmaditya Patnaik as the new secretary of TiE, Bhuban-eswar Chapter.

The event was attended by number of entrepreneurs and a large number of start-ups from various parts of the state.
