Scope

According to Bibhudatta Tripathy, senior trainer at IDMT, the demand in animation sector will always remain, as it is closely associated with the media industry. “There is no saturation point as people will always depend on media for information.

This industry will flourish in Orissa since filmmakers are taking chances with animation,” said Tripathy. Upon completing the course, one can join a film production house or a media house.

The demand of animators is also growing in forensic department and other big organisations where designing forms an integral part.

Seniorspeak

“Everybody dreams about relocating to Mumbai for making it big in this industry after completing the course. But in reality one has to struggle really hard in this industry,” said a former animation student, Saroj Kumar Sahoo, who is currently working in a private company as a web designer.

He advised aspirants to take up this course along with a higher degree, as the course aims at developing skills. The aspirants must have basic knowledge about computer applications and drawing.

“Drawing is essential for animation as it gives you an edge over the others,” said Rashmi Ranjan Samal, a student of animation.
