Bhubaneswar, April 8: Students can expect to get their original board certificates and marksheets within seven days of the announcement of matriculation results, said school and mass education minister Pratap Jena.
“Those appearing for CBSE board exams usually receive their original certificates within 10 days of getting their results. Our students will get their original certificates within a week of the declaring the High School Certificate exam results,” said Jena, adding that the results would be published by the end of June.
Earlier, the certificates and marksheets were awarded a year after the matriculation results were published. “We had been getting a lot of complains regarding the delay. The school and mass education department asked us to speed up the process. We have assured them that from this year onwards we will issue all the documents within seven days,” said Satyakam Mishra, president of Board of Secondary Education (BSE) which conducts the Class X board exam in the state.
This year, the exams were held from March 16 and March 29. Over 4.85 lakh students, including 4.35 lakh regular and 50,000 ex-regular students from 8,207 high schools appeared for the examination in 2,261 centres throughout the state.
Besides, more than 50 teachers and centre superintendents, over 7,000 students were booked for malpractice. The results of those students would be withheld.
In another development, Jena said a development commissioner (DC) would look into the irregularities reported during the exams. “We have received complaints that several exam centres were out of the 5km ambit. The DC will conduct a probe into this matter,” said Jena.
