Cuttack, Oct. 8: A representative of the Ganjam Bar Association has urged the Justice C.R. Pal Commission to take into consideration the 10 districts of south Odisha, which fall under the revenue divisional commissioner of southern division, for establishment of a high court bench in Berhampur.
Deposing before the commission yesterday, former secretary of the bar association Jyoti Prasad Chotray said the southern revenue division was worthy of consideration as a region for a high court bench as it covered almost one third of the total area of the state. The 10 districts that fall under the southern division are Koraput, Malkangiri, Navrangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Kalahandi.
