Flu toll 30

Bhubaneswar: One more person died of swine flu on Tuesday taking the disease toll to 30 in the state this season. The deceased person was a resident of Balangir. The health department has tested 910 swabs, of which 311 were found positive of the deadly disease. Today, 29 samples have been tested out of which 14 found to be diagnosed of the disease.

Infant dead

Bhubaneswar: The body of a dead infant was recovered from a coach of Konark Express early on Tuesday morning. Passengers of the train had informed The Government Railway Police immediately after seeing the body.

Three held

Jajpur: Police on Tuesday arrested three contract killers from Jajpur Road area of Jajpur district in connection with the murder of Nizampur Samiti member Kedar Das. The arrested have been identified as Surya Narayan Swain of Rourkela and Jajati Sahu and Subash Sahu of Paripara village.

Road accident

Bhubaneswar: At least two persons lost their lives and more than 16 suffered injuries in two road accidents in Sonepur and Mayurbhanj on Tuesday. A collision between an SUV and a bus near Arjunpur in Sonepur district claimed lives of two brothers and injured the SUV driver critically. In the other accident, more than 16 persons were injured after the bus in which they were travelling turned turtle at Tankabila in Jashipur police limits in Mayurbhanj.
