The hit trio of actor Anubhav Mohanty, actress Barsha Priyadarshini and director Sudhakar Vasanth is back. Their latest presentation is Mo Duniya Tu Hi Tu produced by Manjari Movies. The premier of the film was held recently at INOX and it became the first Odia movie to be shown at Bhubaneswar’s very own multiplex. t2 brings to you the best and worst of the premier and the movie.
Good: Playing Hera’s (Anubhav) uncle comic actor Salil leaves you in splits. His paunch and punch lines are both hilarious. Devoid of sexual innuendos and raunchy item numbers, the movie is an out-and-out family entertainer— a perfect mix of fun and morality lessons. Anubhav and Barsha compliment each other beautifully. At the premier, Anubhav said: “When I work with Barsha, people ask why not other heroines. When I don’t, they still raise objections. The fact remains I am a huge fan of Barsha.” Well, Anubhav, t2 wants to see more of you two.
The title track, sung by Bappi Lahiri, immediately strikes a cord. The witty one liners and romantic monologues make you applaud the dialogue writer. The scene of raindrops falling on Hera’s face with narration of “Kouthu asilu..janena. Kemiti asilu..janena. Kahinki asilu..janena. Khali etiki janichi Mo Duniya Tu Hi Tu. Theek ki bhul..bujhena, Uchit ki anuchit..bujhena, Pagalami ki baastabataa... bujhena. Khali etiki bujhichi Mo Duniya Tu Hi Tu leaves its imprint on your heart.
Bad: At the premiere director Sudhakar Vasanth said: “The story has been taken from a South Indian film but we have edited it and made it fast paced for the Odia audience.” With a running time of three tiring hours, the film didn't seem to vouch the claims of the director. Another claim of the film being dear to Odia sentiments bites the dust as Barsha dons a gajra throughout the film more like a South Indian girl.
Ugly: To say that the camera work is shoddy will be an understatement. The titled frames make you dizzy. Don't mix drinking and shooting!
PS: The last two films of superstars Anubhav and Arindam were released on the same day. Earlier, Anubhav’s ACP Ranbir and Arindam’s Parshuram hit the theatres the same day while now Mo Duniya Tu Hi Tu is fighting for viewership against Arindam’s Paribeni Kehi Alaga Kari. Is it a pure coincidence or did the fight for the Numero Uno position just got hotter?
