Bhubaneswar, April 8: Cast and crewmembers of One Way Traffic have recently held music launch of the upcoming film, which aims to sensitise people on drugs.
After spending almost two-and-a-half decades in the music industry, Sun Music is steeping into film production with One Way Traffic. Directed by Suresh Pattnaik, the film is based on the fortunate turn of events in the life of a youngster. The protagonist, played by debutant Sambhav, ventures into the world of drug peddlers and, as the title suggests, he cannot find a way back.
“It is a sensible film that portrays what is happening in and around Bhubaneswar. It is a film not meant to rake in money, but to sensitise people,” said Srikant Gautam, founder of Sun Music.
Gautam has penned the scripts of many films, including recently released Akhire Akhire and upcoming Golapi Golapi. In his maiden film production, Gautam has not only written the script, lyrics and the screenplay, but also acted in the film. He was last seen on the big screen two decades ago before he took the decision to focus wholeheartedly on his music company.
Debutante Tapasya is the female lead of the film. “The reason behind taking new actors is that they can be moulded. They are not working on any other movie and hence have no date issues,” Gautam said. The lead pair was selected after rounds of auditions and trained through acting workshops.
The film has seven songs and Brahma Kumar has rendered the music. The music is quite refreshing with a song titled Zindagi se pyaar karo, nashe se nahi meant for awareness. The likes of Ira Mohanty, Kumar Bapi, Aseema Pamda and Vinod Rathore have lent their sonorous voice. Two noted members of the cast — Puspa Panda and Sritam Das — were also present on the music launch at a city-based hotel on Saturday.
Made on a mediocre budget, the film in its post-production phase now is slated for a May-end release. The makers also want to focus on extensive promotions of the film.
