Students were absorbed into profiles of corporate finance, equity research, investment banking, marketing, sales and distribution, supply chain management, business consulting, IT consulting and corporate HR.

OLAM International offered the highest international package of USD 50,000 per annum in the general management profile while the highest domestic salary scaled to Rs 15.5 lakh per annum and was offered by Reckitt Benckiser.

The placements were achieved with the highest domestic salary of Rs 9.5 lakh per annum. This year saw 11 new recruiters participating in the campus placement process.

While 41 per cent of the students were absorbed into rural finance (banking insurance and financial inclusion), 35 per cent of the students were absorbed into rural business development, 14 per cent of the students were recruited into consultancy and research and 10 per cent students were offered jobs in the rural development sector.

Recruiters in this stream included IFMR-CMF, Price Waterhouse Coopers, CEAT, Devgen, Mahindra and Mahindra-FES, Synthite, Usha International , Axis Bank, IDBI, UCO Bank, SBI Life Deloitte India, SREI Sahaj, Access Livelihoods consulting, Natural Management consultants and others.

“Placement of students is an indication of the industries accepting our students. It also shows that we were able to close the placements in the beginning of January, which is a milestone in itself. It’s a great way to start the silver jubilee year of XIMB,” said P.T. Joseph, director, XIMB.

“There has been an increase in the average salary for both the courses. Although, the market is cautious and many sectors remain conservative, there still is space for the ‘right-fitting’ candidates. The B-school has emerged as the first few campuses in the country with 100 per cent placements. Besides new recruiters, XIMB this year had its regular recruiters offering significant growth in their packages,” said Saveeta Mohanty, coordinator placement committee.
