Several social organisations in Bhubaneswar are joining Aaina’s ongoing Daan Utsav. The voluntary organisation, which hosts the annual “We Care Film Fest,” came up with the innovative idea of gifting an apple.

Launching the campaign on Monday afternoon at Udyan Fresh at Jayadev Vihar, the organisers asked their members and other customers to donate an apple for the underprivileged people of the society.

The apples, which will be collected on a daily basis, will be given to government schools. The schools, in turn, will add the apples in the midday meals for the children, said Sneha Mishra, secretary of the organisation. The campaign is on till October 15.
