Cuttack, May 29: Authorities at the Ravenshaw University have decided to digitise its post-examination procedure and the process of form fill-up.

The move aims to ensure an error-free publication of results that has always remained a major concern for the authorities.

The varsity has decided to introduce an online form fill up portal for the students. Besides, online verification and approval processes are also supposed to start from the monsoon semester. "We have planned to introduce an online system for form fill-up, fee payment and admit card download," said P.C. Sarangi, vice-chancellor of the varsity.

Sarangi added that the entire post-examination process including evaluation, result publication, and certificate and rank list generation would be done through the Internet. The scanned answer sheets would be stored digitally and the photocopies would be provided to the students who ask for a review. The photocopies would be provided through the grievances redressal mechanism and the students would have to pay a nominal fee for the re-evaluation.

The proposed Wi-Fi system will be installed at the university to help students fill up their form, pay fees and download their mark sheets and certificates online, Sarangi said.

Besides this, adequate number of computers will be provided to the students staying at hostels on the campus. The varsity is likely to have a Wi-Fi enabled campus by July end.

These reforms aim at ensuring fast e-evaluation of the answer copies to help the authorities publish the results within 15 to 20 days after the exams.
