Calcutta, Nov. 9: A draft routine sent to schools by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) suggests the 2013 ISC exam could be brought forward by up to a fortnight, forcing last-minute changes in the academic calendar and the students’ preparation schedule.

According to the draft routine, the ISC practical exams will begin on February 4 and the ISC theory exam will start on February 14.

In 2012, the ISC practical exam had started on February 13 and the theory on February 27, which means the 2013 Class XII board practical exams are to be brought forward by nine days and the theory exams by 13 days.

There is a buzz that the ICSE 2013 exams are also to be brought forward but according to the draft routine, the Class X board exam will start on February 27.

This has forced many schools across the country to bring forward their rehearsal examination to the first week of December before the winter vacation.

The draft routine is not final. But generally the council doesn’t make any major alterations in the final routine.
