Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary G.C. Pati on Thursday directed the departments concerned to make proper arrangements for cyclones and floods following the standard operating procedure. 
He also asked the departments to keep cyclone shelters, satellite phones and other equipment that are necessary to combat natural disasters ready at all times.

Pirated CDs

Bhubaneswar: Saheed Nagar police on Thursday raided a music shop and seized around 1,500 pirated compact discs. 
The police arrested thirty-five-year-old Surya Narayan Biswal, the owner of the shop in this connection. 

The shop used to sell pirated versions of hit Bollywood and Ollywood movies.

Fire in factory

Balangir: A fire broke out in the ordnance factory at Badmal near Saintala on Thursday morning. The fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control.  Two employees of the ordnance factory were injured in the fire.

Arrest

Sambalpur: Sambalpur police arrested Sanjeev Bohidar and seized 13 bottles of a narcotic drug from his possession after a raid on his house in Sakhipara under Dhanupali police limits late on Wednesday evening.

Student dead 

Bhubaneswar: The body of a third-year engineering student was found hanging in his hostel room on Thursday. 
The police found the body of Mayank Kumar, 21, who was a native of Uttarakhand. He was studying computer science 
from a Khandagiri-based private engineering college. Police registered a case of unnatural death.
