Bhubaneswar, June 19: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today interacted with 600-odd newly inducted officials, who joined the Odisha Civil Service.

Last week, the chief minister had interacted with the district collectors.

"Work with compassion. It is the highest form of professionalism for the development administration. Use the 3Ts (technology, transparency and team work) to bring out transformation in the lives of our people," said Naveen at the induction programme here today.

Earlier, Naveen had focussed on 3Ts while addressing the district collectors and asked them to use the 3Ts to bring out transformation in the lives of the people.

The state government had identified 10 focus areas and formed five working groups to deliberate on these subjects in the three-day collector conference.

"I am sure when you retire from government services, one day you will have the satisfaction of transforming the lives of people in whatever assignments you hold," he told the state civil service officials today.

Naveen ended his speech by quoting Mahatma Gandhi: "Whenever you are in doubt, recall the face of the poorest and the weakest person, whom you may have seen and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to of any use to them. Then you find your doubts melt away."

Altogether 670 candidates joined the Odisha Civil Service. Of them, 60 belonged to the Odisha Administrative Service, 24 Odisha Police Service and 396 Odisha Revenue Service. Six sportspersons and 15 persons with disability also got into the civil service after coming out successful in the Odisha Civil Service examinations, 2015, results of which were announced recently.

"You are happy because you have got selected. I want to spread the happiness, which you are experiencing today, to the citizens, who would come to you to get their works done," exhorted the chief minister.
